Connect iMac to PC remotely

Jul 29, 2007 5:36AM PDT

A client asked me "if you have got SOME way that I could connect to my PC at work from my Apple at home before spending a small fortune on software that I am not sure that works... that would be awesome."

So what are the options? PCAnywhere? Something else?

Look up the vnc that comes with the Apple and test other clients with it.

A rock solid way of doing this on the cheap

Download OpenVPN http://openvpn.net/ and install on the Mac and the Win Machine. Once configured, you can setup a VPN to tunnel into either machine then use Remote Desktop to access Windows machine or VNC to access the Mac. This works just great and is the cheapest way of achieving the desired outcome.
