Memory: I / O device? Storage device? External device?

Display: I / O device? Storage device? External device?

CD: I / O device? Storage device? External device?

Let's get the right answers here. Tell what textbook or class this came from. I've worked in the industry a long time and these parts have moved around over the years. For example on the GE-210 memory was external in another rack. Today it could be part of a "System On a Chip" or SOC.

So with the wide variety of machines out there over the decades, the correct answer can change.

I wouldn't call a Compact Disc (CD) a device. I'd call it a medium, like a newspaper, an LP or a DVD.
