Connect DVDCam to PC

Feb 4, 2006 11:43AM PST

I just purchased a Hitachi DVD (mini) cam #DZ-MV730A. I can take stills using a SD memory card or DVD-RAM disc, and obviously DVD videos. I would like to be able to send/email the stills or videos using my laptop, but it is not compatible with the DVD-RAM disc format. My PC is a basic Dell Inspiron #1100, CD-RW / DVD-ROM. Any idea how I can achieve this?

Thanks Q

No it does not have a USB port. But I kind of found a way around the issue. I'm sure that I won't ever be able to connect my Camcorder directly to my PC because the DVD cam only has an A/V port.
Basically all I really want to do is to be able to view/send my video?s or photo?s via email.
It was suggested to purchase an external drive such as the LG GSA-5163D 16X Dual Layer External DVD

What I recomend is returing the DVD thing and getting a MiniDV camera. John
