VGA is analog and HDMI is digital, and ne'er the twain shall meet. You're going to have to look again at the TV. Is there an S-video port? Maybe composite, yellow? If either one is there you're going to have to get a new video card with one of those outputs.

My tv does have a S-video port, it mainly has all the ports that you could ask for, it just seems to be the pc, which is not that old. Here is a link where you could copy it into your URL to a picture of a similar pc to mine showing the rear. Maybe you may know if it has anything that I may have missed. It is on the bottom of this page. Hope this works.

or something similar:

from this set:

From your picture I'm assuming you will use the PCI slot to plug in the video card. All you're trying to do is add the S-video port. This was just one example as the card's price ranges from this one to several hundred dollars. The really high end will have HDMI ports. Since I didn't know your budget I started at the low end.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
