Downloading and installing aren't the right terms, I think, but let me assume that you did three things:
1. Copy a Word document from the memory stick to the hard disk of your new computer.
2. Openiit in MS Word.
3. See the gobbeldy ****

My questions then:
1. What is the file extension of the file (like .rtf, doc, .docx)?
2. What version of Word on Windows 7?
3. What version of Word on Windows 8?
4. If you open it directly from the memory stick (without copying it first) is it OK or the same?
5. if you use another computer with Windows 7 or 8 and MS Word installed and repeat #4, what happens?
6. If you use your old Windows 7 computer (if you still have that) and repeat #4, what happens?
7. If you find an old version of this or another document in your backup and open that it MS Word on y8our new PC what happens?
