Jan 17, 2005 1:05PM PST

I am buying a new PC. Will be using photoshop CS, Illustrator, InDesign, and FlashMX 2004. Anyone give advice as to what I need to buy to have adequate speed and performance? Thanks for the help!

Compare it to what you use now.

I currently use my computer at work. I have a dell, and from what I can figure (I'm not real good with this computer stuff)it has a pentium 4 3.0gh processor with 2 g. of ram. At home we have a basic 1.99 gh processor w/256 ram. So I'm basically lost as to what to buy. Please help!

Then something inbetween these two?

I'm typing on my home machine. It's a P4 2.4GHz with 512MB. The main HD is an 120GB and the video card is a Nvidia 5700 w/128MB RAM. All in all a nice machine. My video editing box is similar but has the P4 3.0 HT CPU.
Both have oversized power supplies in the 450 to 550 Watt size.

You'll be hard pressed to get less than such at most stores.
