If the ZA free is a trial for # of days (then will turn free after # days), it might conflict or will not install if it detected you have existing antivirus software.

If it's not trial turning free then it should not be a problem in using ZA free with Avast antivirus.

Let us here from ZA users Happy

Comodo is one of the good firewall software. It's a rule-based firewall and also free.

Everyone need antispyware scanner :)
by Donna Buenaventura / April 9, 2007 9:47 PM PDT
In reply to: tx!

Avast is designed to detect antivirus. It may or may not detect spyware so it's best for us to have dedicated antispyware scanner/protection.

Spybot S&D, Ad-aware SE, Windows Defender, SUPERAntispyware are among the widely-used. You can check other antispyware program but ensure it's not rouge product:

If you find antispyware interesting, search the above page for the name or in http://www.malwarebytes.org/database.php
If it's listed, read why it is in the list of rogue.
