Configuring Acer Aspire 5100 audio processing ALC883.

May 11, 2009 3:34AM PDT

I want to be able to change the audio inputs/outputs installed on my laptop. According to the ALC833 technical writeup, it is possible to do this, but is not included in the service manual. For example, I want to configure the line-input to be line output, to drive an audio amp. Anyone with ideas please? Presumably it means directly addressing the ALC833 via Windows XP, but no idea how.
