Just down this page a similar posting has me mention how System Works can cause such a message. As to the dual install in some log, I suggest we ignore it. It's not the cause of your complaint.
The install can fail for many reasons such as firewall, system works, popup blocker or some parasite the machine has.
If the machine has no other issue and is usable, I suggest you look at software like Spybot, Adaware, Cwshredder and Housecall then not fix this.
since my last message (everytime i start my computer it comes up saying updating your system config. files please wait it then says completed update. this happens every time i start the computer but i have not installed or removed any files. since this has happened i cannot use system restore, i have checked for the winint file but it was not found. any ideas please.

I have discovered that the file that is trying to load is a security update patch for the internet explore 6 which although it says was installed has not infact done so. is their antway that i can uninstall this hanging file & try again.

the above shows that the program has been installed twice but still shows as a critical update available.
