conecting to tv black and white picture

hi,i have tosiba satellite A30 os win xp and the video thing is ATI radeon 9000 tv out,the problem is that when i m tryng to see a movie or something else on the tv the picture is black and white i ve been to toshiba site but nothing there to help me so please someone help me

Three most common problems are you have it set to PAL and it's supposed to be NTSC, or vice-versa, you are connecting SVideo and your TV doesn't support SVHS, or there is a scart connector in the mix. Tell more about country you live in, and how it's connected up, and the solution can probably be found.

Are you hooking S-video from the computer into S-video connection on the scart? If so, you will need a S-video to scart adapter. ATI says all 3rd party adapters do not work, and they recommned one from svideo.com.

You also need to set output to PAL in the ATI properties settings.
