I have a new MacBook Pro 15' and work at a hospital in a lab. I do work with another guy who's incredibly slick with mac's and has a known history of hacking into computers, controlling camera's and being able to watch people. He also has managed to get access to all of the physicians in our department by becoming the "go to guy" to fix their mac problems as opposed to the IT department at our hospital. He can VPN in to any of the attending's mac's and does it quite frequently. He's got all of their login info.
The issue is that he and I do very similar work so there's some competition. he's also had some other possible ethics violations that he never got proven on but we know is true.
My question is are there specific programs he could be running to gain access to my mac either at work via the hospital network (which he's hacked and been able to get around the intranet) or when I'm at my home network?
He's always trying to give me files on a USB, offers to install software (all of his stuff is pirated), etc. He's a mess.
Need to know if I should be worried about him gaining access to my mac as I also have business and intellectual property documents on there, encrypted, but there. And if so, what programs should I use to seek out if he's doing anything and possibly nail him to the wall. The guys a creep so I first want to protect myself then work on hosing him.
Thanks for your help.
