COMSETUP.dll error

Mar 1, 2004 11:24AM PST

Hi-
When I try to install SP$ on my Windows 2000 machine, about halfway through the process I get a "Copy Error" that reads the following:"Setup cannot copy the file comsetup.dl_" I have got this same error using the Express setup and the full install. Can someone please tell me what is wrong?

Nothing noted about the machine, CDROM drive, the CD that 2000 is on (silver factory?), and if the RAM passes http://www.memtest86.com

In short, I suspect a hardware issue since my score is 100% of the time, it's a hardware issue or a copy of the 2000 CD (Hint: CD-R?).

I bypassed the problem, but i don't know why it happened. Everytime I would restart the setup, a new file would have a copy error. For some reason I decided to make a copy of the random directory the updater extracted the files to and pointed the installer to that folder and it installed just fine. Weird. thanks though.
