Computers share printer and internet, but no files

Oct 11, 2009 7:32AM PDT

I have a desktop and laptop both on Vista. Desktop is hardwired to wireless router and notebook picks up from router. Both share Internet and one printer, but notebook does not recognize one printer nor are there any files shared, although they are labeled as "shared." Seems like files were shared at one time, but something has been loaded or updated that changed this. What, I don't know. Help, please.
