Resolved Question

Computer Won't turn on unless I hold power button **HELP**

May 12, 2018 3:59PM PDT

Last week i spilled water on my computer, I was able to unplug the battery in time. My computer now works. However, after the accident, whenever I turn off the power right after the computer has run a game, when it is still hot, I have trouble turning it back on. I shut my lid, and when I open it, it does not turn on. Today, I shut the lid after running GTA V, and went to dinner, after I came back, I had trouble turning it on.Then, I noticed that it turned on after I held the power button for a while. This only happens if my computer is running hot when I turn it off. I am not sure if it is getting worse as this problem is fairly new. The computer is only about one month old. I have a Acer Predator Helios 300 with a gtx 1060 and a i7 7700 HQ cpu do any of you know what is going on with my computer?

Thank you

Giacomo

Make that call for warranty work. I can't tell you if they'll find out about the water damage but there is no such thing as software that fixes hardware damage.

Given the story. Yes.

Since it's so new let's hope it's covered.

Be aware the maker will likely have you do a factory reset along the way. Be ready for that.
