Question

Computer won't turn on

Nov 4, 2018 5:49PM PST

So when my brother gave me his old laptop it decided to break on the day I got it. He wanted to do a factory reset but the thing turned off half way through since the battery was dying. Now every time I turn it on it shows up with the HP logo, goes black, and then proceeds to try again. I always keep it plugged in while Im doing this and I don't know if I can fix it or If I need to get a whole new computer.

I don't know everything about it but heres what I could find out,
I know it has a 2GB ram
From what it said on the bottom it's model number is 14-af110nr I don't know if this will help.
The battery is a Nihon HP 10.95V 2670mAh

If you need more details don't hesitate to ask.
(If you couldn't tell I basically know nothing about computers)

It goes through the BIOS POST procedure, it's just not finding an operating system. Go into the BIOS settings and point it at the drive, maybe it will boot OK then. Possible the BIOS has reset itself and looking elsewhere for the drive now.
