That clue would have me get out the Volt meter and see what the CMOS Battery is reading. http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/SABERTOOTH_990FX/ clearly shows the ubiquitous CR2032 so you want 3 or higher volts. Many boards halt when that's too low.
The clue also tells me to look again at the power supply. It could be worn out from working hard. The machine details are slim but I'd like to read that some 600+ Watt Single RAIL PSU was used.
Early note: I am not tech savy, but i know the basics. If you explain something to me i will understand with competence.
I build a new rig last December, and it has been working fine until now. Ill cut to the chase. My computer will not post. My motherboard is an ASUS Sabertooth 990fx.
I get no beeps when powered on. The VGA LED is lit with a static red light. I called a few sources, and i was told it was a graphics card issue. I went ahead and removed my card (AMD RADEON 7970 * Sapphire produced*) and then installed it again, hoping maybe something was loose. after being reinstalled, the same problem. Now, i recently found out that its possible that even without an integrated gfx card, it should still post and boot into safe mode. This leads me to believe it may not be a gfx problem, but something else. I need insight. I will post the rest of my specs is needed.
What im primarily looking for is someone to confirm it as a gfx card issue, or diagnose it as something else. What id like to know first is the problem, then i can take any of the necessary steps to solve it.
Maybe an important note: My rig occasionally WILL POST AND BOOT TO WINDOWS. It used to post once every 4 times, now it finally posted today after at least 20-25 tries, then i turned it off and was unable to post again.
