Computer wont get past windows start up screen?
But it won't start up all the way.
Also there are sometimes weird clicks (like it's trying to work...but slightly different. And a beep or a squeel everysooften from where the hard disc is.

It's a toshiba satellite laptop fwiw
windows vista

It says your computer was unable to start. Startup repair is checking for problems. But it goes on and on

Diagnosis and repair details says

Root cause found
A recent driver installation or upgrade may be preventing the system from starting.

then later when i went through this again it didnt have the part about a bad driver.

and said root problem unknown.

it wont load in safe mode either.

so i tried to reset it to factory settings off of the Toshiba recovery cd, but it keeps failing.
now it says

BOOTMGR is missing
press ctrl+alt+del to restart

then like an idiot I removed my hard drive to check for physical damage and when I put it back in and hit F2, it didnt see the hard drive.

and now insteal of the

(NT) My advice: bring it to a repair shop.

Only a suggestion

I have a friend who's got windows vista on their laptop and they click f11 to get it back to factory setting but I don't know if it will work for you...

Doesn't Sound Good

The fact that you are hearing weird clicks and noises sounds like a possible hard disk failure. I would back up the files I want to keep. If it's new I would contact Toshiba for a replacement drive.
