Question

Computer won't download anything

Aug 27, 2016 5:08AM PDT

Okay, Hi, I seem to be having an issue with my PC (Windows 7). My computer seems to not be able to access the internet to download anything. To start from the beginning, I had left my computer for a year previously before deciding to start it back up again and use for casual gaming and general computer duties. For a good few years I have used this computer constantly when I was younger with no issues of downloading or faults. However, I have recently turned the computer on with one game installed, as I deleted all my others before I left it. Now, after setting my PC up at a new household, the computer can connect to the internet, chrome/firefox etc. and I can play my game with no issues and no connection problems with a good MBS. Now I tried to install another game I used to play, but I cannot for the life of me get my computer to connect to their servers. Now, I got in contact with the games company, which still cannot sort the issue. After I realise that my computer cannot download other things, such as windows updates (just sticks on 0%, regardless of what I try), Driver updates, Letting the computer search for problems etc. Its as though I can connect to the internet manually myself but my computer cannot access the internet itself to connect to anything. I'm assuming that all the issues are connected as they are all involved in the accessing the internet. All the problems result in the updates just sticking and not moving, no error codes are given. Now I am hoping there is a really simple explanation that someone could just point out, as I have wasted so much time, uninstalling and re-installing games/file, changing directories and deleting files and file paths to no success. Hopefully as I've included alot of detail it might be clear to someone else who is looking at it.
Thankyou for your time,
