Mar 10, 2004 6:38AM PST

i just build a new computer its got an asrock k7vt2 mobo, amd athlon 1900+ cpu, pc133 128mb ram, agp graphics card. It wont boot at all, it powers up all the fans come on, it checks the cd drive and then the floppy drive and then it beeps once. And it keeps checking the floppy drive and beeping.

Ive tried re-setting the bios and removing everything apart from ram and cpu but it still does the same.

I need some help

Thanks

have you looked at the motherboard manual to see what the beep means? i think your OS is crashing immediately and rebooting the computer.

I would re-seat the memory module in the slot.
Beware of static electricity. If you're not experienced at such tasks, go to crucial.com and read up on how to handle the memory module.

on modern motherboards, you have to turn off the switch on the power supply to turn off power to the system. if you don't use the power supply switch, you run the risk of damaging the motherboard, CPU, or RAM when you take them out. the safest thing is to unplug the external power cord.
