Question

Computer won't turn on after being unplugged while in sleep

Nov 3, 2014 8:51AM PST

Good day everybody. Well one day when fiddling with my PC (which I put together[not sure if that matters]) I accidentally knocked the plug out of the wall and when I plugged it in and turned it back on, there was no response. I have things plugged into the case USB that still had power to it, like my turtle beach headset still had power to it, but the power button outside and inside the case showed no response. I tried using different outlets but that also showed no results. I want to skip a pricy repair service if possible so that's why I'm consulting the forums. Thanks.

Assuming this is a windows computer, find the hiberfile and delete it. That should keep it from trying to "wakeup" from a corrupted file and do a standard boot again.

sounds like you tripped your PSU. Unplug it for a few hours, then back in and maybe it will reset. If not, then probably need new PSU.

Possible blown PSU

You could have blown your power supply unit. When you press the power button if any lights come on then your power supply does still work but would need to be check to see if it was giving proper voltages. Your Windows could have been "lost" or corrupted when it lost power and cant find a point to restore or boot back too since nothing was prepared or saved.
In this case maybe going to see a computer repair store would be your best choice.
Cheers!
