Did you go to HP'S website and look for the VISTA drivers for the unit? Assuming that you did, if not, that is what I would try. Hewlett Packard printer drivers, then HP drivers and support, plug in the model number of printer, download the driver(s) for your unit. What I usually do is to save the file to docs instead of run to the system, that way I can burn a hard copy to CD then should there be a glitch with the system at a later time, I can reload from the CD.You can save to docs and just run from that location if you don't want to burn a hard copy, your choice. Good luck!!!
I have a Dell XPS 1530 running Vista with Service Packs 1 and 2. When the computer was new I bought an HP Photosmart 6150 which worked fine for about 18 months. Then the printer started acting crazy and after a while could not be accessed through my computer. (The computer didn't list it as a printer.)
I tried connecting it with a wire. No luck. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling without success. After the first uninstall the software didn't even recognize that it was on my computer.
Finally I did a clean install of the OS and tried to install the HP drivers. I get no messages when I finish the installation. But when I do a "recheck" I get the message that the drivers need to be installed. I've tried reinstalling the drivers using the CD and the website. I've had no problem with installation on my old PC with XP.
Can anyone help?
