Question

Computer won't install updates

I have Windows Vista. Whenever update installation is attempted the report comes back "failed", mainly the Security Update for Microsoft.NET Framework 1.1 SP-

The cause is known and your choice to research that. For now the easy workaround is to uninstall all .NET 1.x you have on the PC. Very few, in fact RARELY needed today, you find you can do without .NET 1.x.
