Computer won't detect speakers

by Batman316 / January 4, 2005 9:58 PM PST

My Hewlett Packard PC won't detect my harman/kardon speakers. I just says there's no audio device installed. How can I fix this?

People who post here do so in their free time. AFAIK, there's no one who's paid to sit around all day answering questions here.

That being said, your computer doesn't care if you have speakers installed or not. It sends instructions to the sound card, which sends a signal to the autio port(s) whether or not there's a set of speakers connected. So, if you're following, that means you have a problem with your sound card, not your speakers.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
