Computer won't boot with 2 drives but does boot with one

by bcavan / April 6, 2005 3:26 AM PDT

My computer won?t boot with two disk drives. It will boot and run fine with one SATA drive or one IDE drive but not with one SATA and IDE or two IDE?s. The motherboard is an ABIT model #VT7 2.0 serial #_RD430438044020948 . I have gone into the bios and enabled or disabled whatever is needed for the current setup as much as I knew to do. Booting from the SATA, with the IDE also installed, it looks like it will boot up, but at the last second it gets an ?Error loading OS? message. I have been disconnecting only the power cable from the drives that I don?t want to use. I use a single IDE drive setup for going to bank accounts etc?and reboot with the SATA for use with web surfing and email etc. The setup works well except when booting with any two drives powered up. Please help if you can as I am at my wits end to make this work.

One of the best French door fridges we've tested

A good-looking fridge with useful features like an auto-filling water pitcher and a temperature-adjustable "FlexZone" drawer. It was a near-flawless performer in our cooling tests.
