I'm not sure, what type of computer is it? Mabey somebody changed a setting or something. If you can give me a Model and Make I might be able to tell you, but I'm not making a promise.
This should work on your computer. I have Microsoft Windows XP, Home Edition, Version 2002.
Start<>Control Panel<>Performance and Maintenance<>System<>General.
With that information I can check to see what might have happened.

Every time I try to restart my computer, the screen wil just go blank, and sit there, I have to cut it off, and then cut it back on, and it will work fine, It just will not re-boot, hopefully someone can help me with this. I ended up buying a new one for me, and put this one in my kids room since it still works, but, would love to know why it does this.
