Resolved Question

Computer will not recognize my battery, what else can I try?

Operating System: Windows 8.1 64-bit
Language: English (Regional Setting: English)
System Manufacturer: Acer
System Model: Aspire V7-482PG
BIOS: V2.30
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4200U CPU @ 1.60GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.3GHz
Memory: 8072MB RAM
Available OS Memory: 8072MB RAM
Page File: 4936MB used, 8255MB available
Windows Dir: C:\Windows
DirectX Version: DirectX 11

The battery icon says 72% and not charging (the ac adapter and battery are originals). When I unplug the power the computer powers off and won't turn on.
Steps I've taken:
-Install newest BIOS/drivers/etc. This includes uninstalling the battery driver and redownloading it.
-Put in a new manufacturer approved battery: this yielded the same results, and even the same exact battery % on the battery icon (72%). This was annoying and expensive
-Put in a different hard driver to see if the OS was not recognizing the battery. This acer doesn't have a disk drive so it was a pain to try and do a hard reset, so I just tried putting in the other hard drive, but that yielded similar results.
-Taking the battery out and holding the power button to "discharge the capacitors." Nothing.

The computer is <6 months old so I'm a bit pissed there are problems because I actually decided to buy something above the bare minimum this time. I'm running a Samsung Evo SSD 256gb in case that is relevant. The computer is under warranty but as a student the 2 weeks of downtime with no computer is a big concern. If you guys/gals have any thoughts on what I could try next, I would really appreciate it, otherwise I'll just be sending it in over my spring break. Thanks!

Sorry, but it appears like you've done all you can. I'll guess the motherboard hardware has failed as it relates to the battery and charging mechanism. I'd send it to the shop.
