Question

Computer will not reboot after virus scan.

Jul 15, 2016 10:55AM PDT

My mother in law's computer was running slow so she did a reboot scan using Norton Security Deluxe but it did not reboot properly. It starts up with Dell logo, loading bar, (but does not startloading animation), F2 setup, F12 boot options, and nothing else. Pressing F2 or F12 does not do anything. We havve tried cuttin the power and turning it back on with no result. It is a Dell D16M with W10. What else can we try?

Ask Symantec how to recover. I think a system recovery is next. Or repair.

Try this old reset. Unplug power to the desktop tower and then hold the power button for 60 seconds. Release and reapply power to re-test.
