Question

Computer turns on, but no display & more

Apr 30, 2020 12:54PM PDT

I've been trying to get my computer to boot to a usb for the past couple of days to test out Ubuntu. Whenever I would mess something up in the process, my computer wouldnt even let me get to the BIOS. I changed my boot prio #1 to USB. I was able to get into the "Try ubuntu screen" where it said I was missing a file, I knew how to fix it, but I checked out MemTest. Pressing escape wouldnt let me exit so I just shut off my PC. Turning it on brings this problem.
All of the lights I have in my PC are on, fans are working. There is no display on my monitor, as in the graphics card won't send video. If I try to plug in my mouse or keyboard in any USB ports, their lights do not come on.
I've tried keeping the computer turned off for about 10 hours before turning it on, taking out everything USB, putting in only the USB with Ubuntu, nothing worked. Any thoughts? Not sure if my specs are needed, first post here.

I must've miscommunicated

I'm no longer at the MemTest screen, I turned off the computer after looking at it and now my aforementioned problem arose.
I have:
B450 Tomahawk Mobo
Ryzen 2600 CPU
XFX RX 580 GPU
Corsair CX 650M PSU
WD Blue 500GB HDD

I've tried a couple other things in the meantime,
-Moving my stick of RAM between different slots
-Both SATA ports with different cables
-2 HDMI cables
The monitor DOES recognize that there is an HDMI coming from a videocard. The GPUs fans are on, so is its light (indicating it is receiving power).

That's not a good sign.

We just finished a similar discussion and the member has ordered a new motherboard after the usual making the PC as small as possible, CMOS battery, the old remove power hold the power button for 60 second test and more.

Your list has a lot of optional parts to get a display. We don't need drive(s), more than a stick of RAM or even a case. Make it as small as possible.
