Question

Computer stops responding after turning in

Feb 12, 2015 2:27AM PST

Hi there, I noticed this problem around a week ago and I didn't think it's something special but now it gets quite annoying. When I start my computer it everything seems to work fine but after 10 seconds most icons on my desktop turn into "white papers" and they won't respond and after a short time even Windows stops responding. Usually I just restart my computer and everything works fine until the next day when I turn on my computer the first time. I don't know what is causing the problem my computer is relatively new so please help.

"Bad Caps."

There are tomes on the web on what to inspect for but next time, repeat that boot but pause it at the boot screen (bios screen to some) by tapping the key needed to get to the BIOS. Wait 2 minutes for the caps and parts to warm up and most likely it will boot after a few minute warmup.

Repairs vary from replacing the board(s) with the bad caps to if you have the skill, just the bad parts.

In the future reveal more about the PC make and model.

Thank you for the tip I have done a scan and it found some files that might be causing the problem. I will see the next day if the problem is still there.
Also my system is Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit, model MS-7808 and manufacturer MSI.

I find that infected machines often need repeated scans as the owner or the pest repeats infection.

Well I deleted the files before looking at the detailed names but there files from Babylon and Bing.

Bing would/should be OK, Babylon, not so much.
