Computer stast-up slow

Mar 6, 2004 2:13AM PST

Although I only understand basic computer language,(I am lost on "bulldog 78's" problem. I am trying to figure out why my computer slowed down so drastically after installing Kodaks Easy Share software and saving my pictures in thier files? Someone came out and cleaned my hard drive and installed Anti virus software, and it did not help at all. Then I cleaned out a long list of e-mail messages...nothings working. I have a pentium processor that's only 5 years old? HELP? Handy Andy- Andrea

One thing to try is to go to Kodaks

website ans read the FAQ'. It might be something they are aware of and may have a fix.

Also are you using Adaware or spybot each and every day to get rid of spyware??

These are pure WAGs on my part.

- Only slow start up, or everything slow? Makes a big difference. What exactly is slow? And how slow is slow?
- What happens if you (temporarily) uninstall Kodak software (copy your pictures to a safe place in the meantime!). Just an experiment.
- Are your sure it is related to Kodak?
- Any other (hardware or software) changes to the system at about the same time?
- What OS? If Windows 98, go to the Startup tab of MSCONFIG and report all the programs there.
