Sadly, I see it simply as those applications may have issues. If I could deny you access to those programs, then your machine would not crash. Therefore the issue is not with your machine, but those programs.
Do you see any way to cure this?

I recently installed BitTorrent and mIRC to watch some anime videos. However, when I download using those programs, they typically crash before finishing the last quarter of the transfer.
My computer doesnt crash at all, only in conjunction with using these programs, and sometimes I think I think just opening the programs triggers it. Because I once opened BT and closed it after 5 min, canceling a download. However, 10 min or so after closing it, the computer crashed in the same manner as if it was opened to begin with.
Also, I've used p2p programs to download the same anime files, soulseek for example, and I have had no problems, and no crashes.
FYI Comcast provides me with my cable modem service.
