Computer Slow Down

Nov 7, 2005 9:06PM PST

Recently we had some problems with our DSL vendor, Verizon. Service was cut off and our modem (2 years old) which they provided, went bad and had to be replaced. After it was replaced, we have since been experiencing significant slow downs in all of the computers on our home network (operated with a Belkin wireless system). For example, it takes forever to switch pages on the internet with explorer. Also, we have found significant delays in downloads on all of our computers. We seem to have fixed one computer's problem by acquiring new anti-spyware to replace our old software. However, we still seem to have problems with downloads. Any suggestions?

Time to make that call.

"we still seem to have problems with downloads."

No OS mentioned, not much about the network and not a word about "downloads." With such a lack of information I can only offer.

1. Try EWIDO from download.com
2. Call the support lines.

Could it be a sudden onslaught of spyware?

just a thought, but is it possible? does the new modem have something that the old one doesn't?
(hint hint firewall?)
