Computer slow...

Sep 12, 2008 1:19PM PDT

Hi, My computer is slow and just wondering what I can do.
I got a HP Pavilion ab157c TV PC and it tells me I got 202 GB free of 289 GB, so it shouldn't slow down because of RAM, right?
Also I got AntiVirus Programs running, did the CC Cleanup, disk defr. disk cleanup but still isn't very fast.

I do have a new hobby since about 1 months (digital scrapbooking) so I download a lot every day and delete a lot, everything I don't like from the download...

Anyone could help me?
I accidently delete my recovery (DHappy posted already a post, how I can possible undue this step.

THank you

Slow computer...

-> The 202GB free refers to your hard drive (amount of storage), not RAM (which along with your processor directly relates to performance).

-> I believe the model number is actually a6157c, for anyone else following this thread.

-> Could you explain how the computer has become slow? For instance, slow to boot, slow to launch/switch programs, slow internet connection, etc.

-> See the other thread for recovery partition information.

Computer slow...
Sep 13, 2008 3:30AM PDT

Hello John,

it was slow to switch between programs and also the internet.
The HP Service people told me I had to much going on and wouldn't have enough RAM for it.

So now I work with less windows open and it works better.
I guess I have to add more RAM.

Thanks again

I have some of the same trouble and ie7 trouble
Sep 16, 2008 10:36PM PDT

on Saturday i am supposed to get free phone help with a couple of problems i am having. one is like yours my computer is some times very slow and some times very fast. the other trouble i have is some how my IE7 is running in windows 95 and not windows vista like it should me. i think part of the reason why my computer is some times very slow. is because it is running in 95 not vista like it should. i am just learning how to do this forum. i have ask on a different forum how to get ie7 running back in windows vista? also about the reasons my computer can some times be slow and some times fast. now i want to see if i can get more help from this forum. when i get help on the phone on Saturday i well write what they tell me. sorry i cannot help you now but maybe i can later. thanks sham1313

the 1st part of this message is a copy paste of what i wrote in another forum.

I well only right here once about this, because I know this is not about windows vista pop up. it is when i did not under stand that there were certain spots for different question. for a few years i was real sick. i guess i should have waited a bit longer to try to do computer. it is hard to concentrate on doing my new computer. it is a lot different then my old one. i need to say i am sorry to the group. i know now that Internet ie 7 is working in windows vista not 95. it say's windows 95 in a grey area under properties, because that is the lowest program that i can run this computer. i thank you for you for listing sham1313
this is the only other spot i put this message, and i know that my new computer was running real slow. i had read here form some one that he was trying to do to much at one time and that is why his computer was running slow. it is the same reason why mine was running slow. when i 1st started doing my hp new computer i called for help all the time a lot of tech had control of my desk top. some how my short cut to connect to the internet got broke and i had to click the ie 7 on my desk top to get the page to pull up and i had to work on it some to get the page to come up. now the link is fixed. the ie 7 come up right after i connect to the internet. right now i am mainly doing reading so i don't mess up any thing again. thanks sham1313
