computer shuts down when running ad-aware

I downloaded some desktop themes to my computer, but now when I run Ad-aware my computer shuts down. I have gone through my add/remove programs and removed all suspect programs, but the computer still shuts down when Ad-aware is started.

Since the computer works fine if Ad-aware is not being run I am wondering if there is some type of adware that was attached to the themes that is preventing me from running Ad-aware (and getting rid of it).

Could this be possible? Could anyone help me?

Thanks alot!

When I suspect such, I move to alternative inspections such as...

1. TASKLIST

It's an XP command line tool. I use TASKLIST and then google.com if I don't recognise a task.

2. SPYBOT

Spyware usually can't guard against multiple tools.

Thanks for your help. I downloaded Spybot, and after running it, Ad-aware and Norton several times I think I have all the adware off.

Thanks again!
