Resolved Question

computer shuts down if unattended

Feb 7, 2013 12:12AM PST

I just had a new Seagate 1TB hard drive and Windows 8 installed in my Toshiba laptop. I also had ESET NOD32 Antivirus 6 installed. The only problem I have encountered so far is that the computer shuts down if unattended for about 30 minutes. Does anyone have any idea as to why this is happening and what I can do to prevent it?

Nevermind, I found the setting under power options and changed it.

Same shutdown issue with a Gateway NE56R
Aug 29, 2013 1:20AM PDT

Hi, I have the same issue with a Gateway NE56R laptop that shuts off automatically after 30 minutes regardless if the laptop is idle or in use.

I have been in the Control Panel > Power Options settings countless times, adjusting them, disabling all options etc. but the same issue happens, tried different AC Power Blocks from other Gateway laptops, same issue occurs.

What did you do exactly to resolve your issue?

Thanks in advance.
