If latter, are you sure you have the correct HDMI or other port chosen in the TV settings?
I replaced the cord that goes from the tower to the monitor and it still says no signal. Any advice on what it could be?

First, swap in a known good monitor to see if that's the issue.
Next, if there happens to be an integrated video card on the motherboard and you're using a separate dedicated card, then we'd disable the dedicated card in Device Manager, enable the integrated card and plug the cable into the other graphics port.
And if there is no secondary graphics port to plug into, we replace the video card.
Hope this helps.
