Question

computer reset

Mar 4, 2018 4:51AM PST

my windows 10 computer was acting badly so I did a computer reset. I had been running Firefox but after the reset, which took a long time, it came back on with edge browser. How can I get back my bookmarks? If I just download Firefox will I get my bookmarks back?

If you reset

the OS to the original state , that would make IE/ Edge the default browser and Bing the default Homepage.
You would have to reinstall FF and I believe that your Bookmarks will be there ...

If the Firefox program has been removed by the reset, and you reinstall it, it will pickup every setting that is in your profile (Appdata>Local>Mozilla an Appdata>Roaming>Mozilla). Everything incluses add-ons, cookies and bookmarks. If the reset removed those folders in Appdata also, you'll have to get those data back from your backup.

Did you know Firerfox on the first run of every day makes a backup of all your bookmarks in a single file that you can include in your regular backup, if you find making a backup of the whole folder or the whole disk too much work or too time-consuming?
