your Windows XP system has corrupted and mixed up versions of files. you will need to repair Windows XP to get everything right again. if you are not using Win98 at all, i suggest your throw everything away and start all over again with a clean install. the messages about missing entry points is because for some reason you have a Win98 program or device driver running that is looking for something that exists only in Win98.
Herb...
I would like some help with this computer. It is running Windows XP upgrade, with all updates automatically installed.
At the bootup it asks whether Win 98 or XP should be started. How do I get it to automatically open XP?
After starting XP and the Desktop opens, a message comes on: The procedure entry point K32Thk1632Prolog could not be located in the dynamic link library Kernel 32.dll. What does this mean and how do I correct it?
Also some files don't open because there is not a program associated with the particular type of file, and some files when you double click on them go to search instead of opening. So right clicking to open them is a pain. How do I get program associations and get rid of Search as the first line to open files?
Thank you for the help.
