Computer problem

Mar 11, 2017 9:20PM PST

I was playing a game on my computer when the monitors suddenly went into standby mode. The lights and fans are on on the computer but it doesn't appear to be booting anywhere. I have reseated the ram and checked all the connections but I don't know if it's a power supply issue or if my motherboard died or my CPU unfortunately at the moment I don't have a jumper to reset the CMOS I'm going to get one tomorrow to try that first but if that doesn't work I'm lost

Cmos
Mar 12, 2017 8:45AM PDT

Power off the machine.
Remove the a/c cord.
Wait 15 seconds.
Remove the bios battery.
Wait 30 minutes.
Install the bios battery.
Connect the a/c cord and power up.

Should do the same thing as a bios clear jumper.

I disassembled the computer I can't see any burn marks or Arc anywhere. I looked at my CPU and I don't see any visible damage and no burn smell. Should I just buy a new motherboard and see if that fixes it? If my CPUs bad I kind of want to just upgrade to a slightly newer one they're like the same price but if I can just replace the motherboard that's cheaper. From what I've read motherboards seem to fail a lot more than CPUs?

Work with the bios

You need to see the bios splash screen on the monitor.

One monitor plugged into the mobo.
One stick of ram.
Remove the video card.
