The only external GPUs I've seen pull power from some ATX PSU. If you tried to tap the laptop's power, this can't end well.
My laptop, the SAGER NP6850 (or CLEVO N850HJ), comes with an adapter that is a full range 120W power supply. However, I've recently discovered that my gpu (The nvidia geforce 1050 ti), has a minimum requirement of 300w. While it still functions, it slowly drains even whilst being charged (I assume this is because the adapter is only 120W). I was wondering if there was a way to restrict the gpu to 120w somehow, or otherwise use an adapter with a higher wattage? I have found a few adapters that suffice, however I have been unable to find out what adapters this laptop model is compatible with. Simply searching for the model only brings up the adapter it has now.
Here is a website that has the specs of the laptop, though not all of them match. (For example, I do not have the advertised 1 TB hard drive, but I do have the same charger, battery, and most of the other features) https://www.xoticpc.com/sager-np6850-clevo-n850hj.html
