Computer pluged into speakers sounds horrible

I have a TOSHIBA Satellite C55t-A5102 Running Windows 8.1

I am using Spotify for my music. I was doing Music for a convention for my company and the room had built in speakers ran to my computer by aux cable.

When music was playing through my computer, it sounded like crap, very high vocals with no bass.

When I plugged it into my phone, it sounded GREAT.

Please Help, Whats wrong with my computer?

Try one of those USB audio cards. Fixing the laptop itself would be too costly. USB audio cards run from under 5 bucks to as much as you want to pay.
