Is there some reason you can not remove the 950 and install the 970 on the mobo you have?
As for the psu I suspect you will not have the proper pcie power connectors for a 970.
Shop around for a 500/600w single rail unit.
I'm looking to upgrade my gpu, but i'm going to need to upgrade my motherboard if i want a gtx 970, could someone point out one of the most cost effective motherboards that can handle a gtx 970, at least 16 gb ram and an i7 processor? i already have everything except the gpu and the motherboard, and im probably going to upgrade my psu as well. i currently have a dell xps 8700, upgraded with a gtx 950 and a ram upgrade to 16 gb.
