Question

Computer only shows 1

I recall vaguely, when i had setup my network with a new router. I seem to recall i had 2 names, one for 2.4GHZ and the other for 5GHZ. Now when i go on my tablet i have the option seen there, but when i go to my network setup on my desktop, it only shows the 2.4 one. Any reason why it is obvious on my tablet and mobile phone, but not on my pc?

My old laptop only has a 2.4GHz WiFi card.

Newer devices will catch both 2.4Ghz and 5 Ghz, so I'm guessing your tablet is much more newer than your desktop. Technically 5Ghz Wifi are way better in every way ONLY if they're in close range with the devices that are connected to it. If you have your phone connected to the 5Ghz and if you go outside your house for the mail or something, it's going to lose the signal because 5Ghz does not have wide range like the 2.4Ghz Wifi does.

So my suggestion would be to put every device that is in close range to the router or that have more priority (depends on user) on the 5Ghz signal(Only applies if the device can see both 5 and 2.4) and leave the 2.4Ghz clear for devices that are far away from the router.
