Question

Computer not running as specs indicate

Dec 25, 2013 11:38AM PST

My friends are telling me my computer isn't running as it should, and after doing some research that appears to be true. I ran some benchmark tests, and compiled the results into this image:

Some of the benchmark tests tell me I have 3 cores, even though I am given to understand that I have 6. I dont know whats going on there.

All information regarding my computer:

Or here are the specs summarized for your convenience:
AMD FX-6120 3.5GHz
10GB DDR3
1TB HDD
AMD Radeon HD 7450

I tried contacting HP, they weren't much help. Tried fiddling around with drivers, but it didn't change anything. Its a refurbished computer, I'm not sure if that could be the cause. Thanks in advance.

Sadly I think it's too much a mismosh of parts.

10GB RAM may not be in pairs or triple channel so it's probably performing just right.

The 7450 is an OK card so for a gamer they may complain.

My quick look seems to find a machine that is a sum of parts. Not well planned.
