It's true most drives just vanish.

If this was mine I'd stick to under 127GB drives. Should be cheap.

Ok my laptop worked fine - i turned it off next day i turned it back on and it says no HDD detected boot from: A: C: D: (or somthing like that)
i chose the hard drive and it says no hard drive found.
So i put in the recovery disk and it says recover or install ive tried both options and they both say no hard drive detected install or configure from manufacturer CD's so now im stuck ?
The hard drive light on the front of the laptop comes on and looks like its working flashing iregular etc.
Its a fujitsu Siemens laptop with a Toshiba HDD2197 (MK2023GAS) HDD
Ive tried taking it apart and cleaning it up nothing works
I didnt hear ahy from of whiring etc before the HDD gave up.
