computer not allowing me to attach pictures and files

to e-mail messages. It boots me out quickly when I try to do this. What could be causing this? My virtual memory is almost full but physical memory has lots of RAM. Could that be an issue or maybe a virus or something else?

Re: email problems

A few questions.

1. What is your email program (like IE for Hotmail/gmail, or Thunderbird, or MS Outlook or Outlook Express or Eudora)?
2. Try it after booting in Safe Mode. Does that work?
3. What is your antivirus, and is it set to check outgoing mail? See what happens if you uncheck that?

computer e-mail problem
by basia3 / February 26, 2008 4:30 PM PST

I forgot to add that I have Microsoft Windows XP, an emachine and I have this problem with both AOL free e-mail account as well as my Gmail account. Also, my computer freezes up often. I recently downloaded Picasa2 software for editing pictures and I'm able to send pictures from that program into Gmail but only if I use that program.

That answers exactly 0 of my questions.

And it adds another problem (or isn't it another problem?): your computer often freezes. Can you tell more on that? Is there some common factor when it freezes?

Other questions:
4. How do you send email from Picasa2? I didn't know that was possible.
5. Have a look in the Event Viewer to see if you can see any error message relating to both events (the stopping of your email program and the occasional freeze). It helps to empty the existing log first to keep it manageable. Tell what you find.
6. Tell more on your hardware: amount of RAM, CPU, Power supply, age.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
