computer keeps restarting after installing school manager 20

Dec 30, 2009 12:20AM PST

I have a Mac with a partioned hard drive, and mostly work on the windows side. I downloaded School Manager 2010, and tried to open it and a window flashed saying I needed something, and the computer restarted. It now keeps restarting, it is not letting me get far enough into loading all my programs that I can delete the download.
Is there anything I can do? Please reply to office@faith-ag.com

Try disabling Automatic Restart

I'm not sure what your setup is, a Mac with a separate partition with Windows installed?

If so, which Windows?

Cam you still access the Mac partition and OS? If not, I will have to pass and I would suggest you re-post in one of CNET's dedicated Mac forums;
http://forums.cnet.com/mac-forums/

If you can still access the Mac OS but not the Windows OS, try rebooting into Windows' Safe Mode. That is usually done by tapping the F8 key once a second during Windows boot up. If you can access the Windows OS in its Safe Mode, right click the My Computer icon, select Properties, then under the Advanced tab select the "Startup and Recovery" button, and in the new window, deselect the "Automatically restart" option. Reboot the Windows OS, and this will allow any Blue Screen information to display if there is any. You can then research the STOP Error code, and any other details.

You could also try to uninstall that software whilst in Safe Mode, or using System Restore to return the system to its previous state.

I hope that helps.

By the way, posting your email address in forums is not a good idea.

What is "it", that "keeps restarting".

The Mac (before it lets you choose between OS X and Windows? Or Windows after you selected that to boot into. If the last, how far does Windows come?

And do you happen to know more details about "needed something"?
