Question

Computer keeps freezing

Hello, for about the past month my PC has started freezing randomly. Sometimes its within a few minutes sometimes within 2 days. It has been driving me crazy, trying to figure out what's been going on. There have been no hardware changes and I have performed the following steps already; Complete virus scan, malware scan (the herd, windows security defender, malware bytes pro) mem scan, disable power saving / disable usb power save mode, disconnecting all HD's except main boot HD, updated bios, drivers, windows update.

When the PC freezes, the mouse/kb just stops responding and is frozen on screen. No error messages or BSOD. If I have music playing in the background the music will just stop and emit a buzzing sound from the speakers.

OS: Windows 8.1

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Close all unwanted applications

In reply to: Apart from monitoring your cpu and gpu temps

You need to close all the unnecessary application running on your computer.Because multiple programs running off screen can take up a significant portion of your computer's operating memory and make it slows down.Open the task manager application panel to see which programs are running at a moment.Hope it will help you.

Thanks
