Computer keeps crashing and not recovering

Jun 19, 2018 10:13PM PDT

Specs
GPU-Radeon MSI Gaming RX 480
CPU-i5-6500
Motherboard-H110Gaming
RAM-16X Gigs DDR4 HyperX
Memory-1TB Hard drive-280 Corsair SSD(OS on ssd)
PSU-EVGA650W

Recently my computer has been just randomly crashing in high GPU intense games such as Arma 3 and planetside 2. It would be 10-15mins in the game and just crash. When it crashes it’s just a black and and I have to reboot. No overclocks. Thought it could be a PSU problem so I got a new one and still does the same thing. Now I’m at the point to where if I open the game it will instantly crash. New BIOS drivers new GPU drivers new divers all around. Anyone got any ideas of what it could be.(cleaned my system top to bottom still didn’t help)

If a reset of Windows 10 doesn't help, it most likely is a hardware issue. I'd start with trying another video card.
What error code do you get on the BSOD?

None

No error just a black screen

Another cause. Really hard on new techs.

I'm running into failing HDDs that do this. Go get a SPECCY REPORT (see google) and look at the 01 Smart Value. If it's off in the thousands the drive is having issues and you may find it unable to repair.

That blank screen could be something else entirely like over heating. For now, leave the cover off and check if the fans are spinning like new and there is no dust and link inside.

If it still fails you need to re-do all the heatsink compound work.

GPU Idle
Jun 20, 2018 5:13PM PDT

Just got done reinstalling windows and cleared my whole pc. Now my GPU is idling at 600-1000MHZ at max is 1750... Could my gpu possible have a virus or be bad?

I have to ask
Jun 20, 2018 5:15PM PDT

Why is that a problem? MODERN PCs clock up and down to save power. Old PCs would run the GPU and CPU at full tilt burning up the Wats and on laptops, some legs.

No clue what the problem is

Just my GPU is soundly like its going crazy. But just got a new PSU thats 650W so i know thats not the issue. Is it just a bad GPU?

A Speecy reading for the report TCgZx24rlCUt7C6laq8xOG6

1. The CPU looks warm for not gaming. I'd remove the side cover for now.

2. Dual displays? Cut back to one until this machine is working right.

3. Many SVCHOST entries and IP connections. Curb that for now. Read
https://www.howtogeek.com/224981/how-to-stop-windows-10-from-uploading-updates-to-other-pcs-over-the-internet/

4. CPU Core voltage looks a tad low. Try adding 0.1V to that. Double check with CPUID first.

5. GPU temp for idle is a tad high. Remove that case cover for now.

6. SSD/HDD look healthy.

Nothing seems too far out, that low CPU voltage could have it BSOD unexpectedly but temps are on the high side.

That's not the app I asked about. You'll have to ask MSI why it reads 0V.
