Question

Computer issue, maybe you can help?

Mar 18, 2015 1:31PM PDT

So, recently i was trying to watch netflix and got some error, Error Code: M7053-1803, anyways after that I looked into it and couldn't find the error solutions anywhere aqvilable. Contacted their support and they asked me to try netflix on a different browser. This is where I noticed more issues. Currently when I begin downloads on google chrome they do not show up in the bottom of the window or in the downloads tab. However, a sliver of green in the chrome icon in the taskmanager thing pops up and if I go to close chrome it says that I am currently downloading something. Next issue is skype, saying I cannot connect to skype when I try to log in, yet when I am logged into outlook I can chat message whoever. I feel like these issues are all connected somehow, just not sure where it all stemmed from. Any and all help is much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Answer
Netflix does document that error with Chrome.

It writes to reset chrome and restart your PC.

The story overall sounds like some malware infection. Here's Grif's advice on scanning and removal of the usual.

No. It's never a sure thing. The sure thing is to restore the PC back to when it worked but I find scanning with Grif's help and resetting browsers to cure most of these.

What is the system, L/T desktop? OS and hardware parameters? How is it being used, hardwire/wireless..and are you using security software, if so, what. More information might help..
